The largest Viking longhouse
in the world
was found at
Borg in Lofoten. The recon-
struction is in full size, 83 m.
Beautiful decorations and
exhibitions fill the house.
The
Vikings are demonstrating
handcrafts
and sharing their
knowledge on the Viking Age
with the visitors. The smell of
tar and smoke, delicious Viking
style food (on request), the
craftsmanship - it all takes you
back, more than 1000 years.
By the sea,
the Viking ship
is moored. When weather
permits, guests may join for
short rowing- and sailing trips.
Archery and axe-throwing are
other popular activities
(15.06 – 15.08).
In modern exhibition halls
(audio guides, 6 languages),
unique archeological artifacts
are at display. The 12 minutes
long film is worth seeing.
Every August, the 5-day
Viking
festival
is arranged. Market,
games, competitions, theatre
performances, concerts, work-

festival is filled with fun for all
